Summer evening exploration.

Think back to when you were a little boy or girl. Imagine the biggest rocks you've ever seen, and you get to climb them! You can't wait to see how far you can go. The red rocks are warm and rough on your hands as you make your way to the top. And when you get there, you can feel the breeze after your hard work, but more importantly, you can see the whole world!

That's the type of excitement that I saw in these little boys' eyes on this summer evening in June.

So much to see, so little time.

I had so much fun climbing and exploring with Paras, John, and their sons, JJ and Zach. Paras is a contributing writer with the Colorado Springs Mom Collective and a Board Certified Pediatrician. With their oldest son starting Kindergarten this year, this family knows how to stay busy! (Be sure to check out Paras's recent articles for some really helpful tips!)

With her boys growing up fast, Paras knew this summer would be the perfect time to capture some new memories to last a lifetime. Like with most families, life got so busy that they hadn't had professional photos in several years! I think we all can relate to that. :)

The weather couldn't have been better for us on this early June evening at Garden of the Gods. It was warm, which is expected for Colorado Springs at this time of year, but there was a good breeze going, especially when we climbed up high. I love Garden of the Gods for a family photo session because there is so much to explore. The boys had such a good time, and this location gives such good variety in your photos. You wouldn't believe how much we were able to capture in just a 30-minute introductory session.

As the sun sets.

Paras and family -- I can't thank you enough for spending such a fun evening with me this summer! I absolutely loved meeting your family, and I would explore and play with these kiddos again and again. Looking at your photos gives me so much joy because your genuine personalities are shining through. So many giggles, only one minor boo-boo, and some classic "side eye" from John (that hopefully looks more natural than your wedding photos!) ;)

I can't wait to create more magic with your beautiful family again in the future!
