Hiking? With dogs? We must be in Colorado..
If you know me in real life, you're probably sick of hearing about two things. 1. All of my hikes, and 2. my dogs. Well, buckle in, because this summer, I'm going to be writing about all of the amazing places I'm hiking, and more often than not, I will be bringing my dogs!
There are countless places to hike in Colorado. And it just so happens that most of them would make really great family photo locations. This week, I went for a hike and doggie photo session at Fox Run Regional Park in Black Forest.
Why I love Fox Run Park.
Fox Run Regional Park is so close to my house, and it offers a really quiet, easy walk for a Sunday morning. The trail is very accessible to novice hikers (hello, kiddos!!), and it's conducive for more of a leisurely stroll. This was the perfect spot to bring my two, less-than-ten-pound Pomeranians for our first hike of the season. Even though we love adventure, you need to work up to it sometimes!
Fox Run is also great for mid-summer because it's one of the few fully shaded trails near me, thanks to all of the gorgeous ponderosa pines. We all know how hot that summer sun can get, so if you're headed out mid-day or late-afternoon, this is a really great option.
Photo session opportunities at Fox Run.
A photo session at Fox Run Regional Park would give the dreamiest, moody photos. This park is a really great option for families with kids would love to explore. Imagine playing hide and seek among the trees, picking out your favorite pine cone from the forest floor, or playing pretend that you're a woodland creature or a fairy.
During our hike, there was some maintenance being done. That didn't disturb our fun, and actually made for the most cozy, fall-vibe photos with the wood cut backdrop.
With all of the beautiful pine trees, I can also image the most magical winter wonderland photos as the seasons change, or even just capturing that classic pine tree look for your holiday cards regardless of the season.
