Long weekends were made for hiking.
After an unusual number of weeks of clouds and rain here in Colorado Springs, we got a much-needed reprieve with a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend! My husband and I decided to take advantage of that with a little Saturday morning hike at Rampart Reservoir in Woodland Park, Colorado.
We had never done this hike before, and a previous client, Paeton had recommend it to us! Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, I try to do a new hike every weekend if I can. It's such a great way to explore Colorado's incredible landscapes.
What your phone sees versus what my camera sees.
I always try to bring my camera with me on my hikes, but oftentimes people ask me why. My phone is so much easier to capture the moment, and it way more portable.
I like to do quick snaps along the trail with both my phone and my camera. This time, my hands were full with the dog leashes though, so I didn't capture any details with my camera until we got to the view point of the reservoir.
Can you guess which picture below was taken with my camera? That's why I bring it with me. :)
Capturing memories along the way.
My little doggies love to go hiking. And it's always a win when my husband agrees to along with me.
We enjoyed every little detail about this hike: from the beautiful drive from Colorado Springs to Woodland Park, to the babbling creek we walked beside, to the delicious lunch we got at Peak View BBQ on the way home.
Just look at those smiles..
